A Wish for You

All this week, I'm turning some blank cards
from blah to TADA!

blah: a card that's minimalist in nature;
the cover lacks any design

blah: felt clippings left over from previous projects
{It's a challenge for me to throw anything!}
TADA!: Card, cake, candles...everything you
need for a beautiful birthday!

Good Luck Wishes

Howdy everyone!

This week, I'm adding some life to a pack of
blank cards that I own. When I say blank,
I mean blank inside and out.
Good thing I paid only $1.50 for it.

Here's the solution to my problem.
Blah pieces of felt left over from a few completed crafts.

TADA! I decorated the front with this
sail boat. A perfect card for someone
moving to a new job or a new country.

Blank Cards

Happy Monday to all of you!

When a package says "blank cards,"
it means there's nothing written inside
the card -- no greetings or salutations.
They make wonderful all-occasion cards
for a celebration or a little heartache.

I bought these blank cards and thought,
"They're too blank!" They were blank inside and
even on the outside -- no decorations whatsoever.

Well, I have a plan.

blah: blank cards
{I must say the envelope's cute}

blah: felt remnants from past projects

TADA!: a greeting card that's fab & festive!

Re-fashionista

Whoever said that "a single outfit can have a whole
new look just by changing the accessories," got
it right on the money.

And that outfit, once you're tired with it
can be turned into accessories.
Yes, accessories.

All this week, I showed you how to
turn a single T-shirt into four different
necklaces. Ready for one more?

The remnants were enough for a wrist accessory.
I found this bangle that was dying for a new look.

Make long strips {the same demo from Monday} and
neatly connect them together with hot glue.
Wrap the bangle with the "ribbon" you made,
keeping the "stripes" straight and tight.
Secure end with hot glue.

Now you have a brand new bangle.
TADA!

Have a superb weekend!

Got to Believe in Gold

Here's another remarkable recycling idea:

blah: Strips cut out from an old T-shirt.

TADA!: A truly unique necklace.

The flirty gold beads elevate the look.
People will be surprised to know
that this used to be an old T-shirt!

Lucky Charms

Thanks for visiting me today!
Our featured blah this week is an old t-shirt.

Cut it up, stretch out the strips and you've got
yourself some "yarn". You can do anything with it.
I've been having a ball making necklaces and
here's another idea:

Knot short strips together to make a loop.
Measure accordingly if it's to be worn by a
child or an adult.

Add some charms: something spiritual, something lucky,
something that triggers a memory.

What was once a blah t-shirt is now a
TADA! necklace.

Have a wonderful day!

He Loves Me, He Loves Me Knot

It's another week of T-shirt transformations!

Yesterday, I showed you how to make "yarn" out
of on old T-shirt. Simply cut the shirt into uniform strips.

With this "yarn", I'm going to make another necklace.
Here's how:

Gather five long strands, find the middle and secure with
a safety pin. Attach the pin with a binder clip and use
this to hang on a hook or nail.

Make some knots & repeat to make several rows.

Just take a new, loose strand.
Knot once on one of the hanging strands.
Grab the strand beside it and knot again.
Keep doing this until you've finished a row.
The knots should look like they are
hugging the strands.

Once you've finished a row, end with a double knot.
Trim ends but leave a half-inch tail.
Hide the tails at the back by twisting, tucking
and hand-stitching in place.

Take a new, loose strand and repeat process.
I made 10 rows, you can make more or less.

TADA!
How do you like my handcrafted necklace?

Knot the dangling ends for a clean look.
This is meant to be worn like a medal
{so make sure there's enough room to
fit it over your head}, but you can
use a necklace closure that you can
buy at a craft store.

TADA!
I think I want to make more in other colors!
